Knowing FBO Management – What Do Fixed Base Operators Do?

Many on-airport services are provided by FBOs, and FBO management has become increasingly important to delivering the customer experience. FBO stands for Fixed Base Operators, and they provide an array of services at any given airport ranging from a small municipal airport to a large international hub. They specialize in core line services such as fueling, handling and hangaring of aircraft yet their portfolio of services can be varied and extremely unique, depending on the customer demand dynamics at the airport. Some FBOs work only with general aviation customers, while others provide commercial airline services as well. In most cases, they deal with the management of passenger and crew services and provide airport facilities such as passenger terminals and aircraft hangars. They may also handle some of the other customary services such as aircraft Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) and Aircraft Charter and Management (ACM). FBOs also provide ancillary services such as catering, flight planning, etc.

FBOs may work below the wing (all the ground related services) or above the wing (related to the pre-flight passenger management). To learn more about how professional FBO management can maximize the value of your FBO, call the experts of Global Aviation Infrastructure LLC now!
